This Chart should be used as a guide only.
1. Multiply the square feet of area by the ceiling height to determine cubic feet. (Length x Width x Height = cubic feet)
2. Determine BTU zone from the map; either zone 3, 5, 7, or 9.
3. Multiply the cubic feet by your BTU zone (3, 5, 7, 9). This number will be the BTU/HR output that is required to heat your area.
4. Go to the BTU/HR output column to match as closely as possible your BTU needs with heater output. You will notice several models (see Model column) of heaters will have the required BTU output to heat your area.
EXAMPLE:
Room size is 20' x 20'
Ceiling height is 8'
BTU Zone is 7
20' x 20' x 8' x 7 = 22,400 BTU/HR Output
Models available: DV-35, RH-35, GWT-35, 3588
**Notes: Not all heater models are allowed by some local codes. At high altitudes additional heat may be required. If you have a single room with 4 exterior walls, additional heat may be required.
